Each week I will pick two games, my “Play it Safe” selection as well as my “Out on a Limb” pick:
Play It Safe: Ravens at NYJ
Two words. Joe Flacco. With Zach Wilson out the Ravens are going to be able to feast on Flacco, who won’t be helped by the Jets’ banged up offensive line. Look for Lamar and company to get off to a fast start to kick off the 2022 season.
Out on a Limb: Broncos at SEA
Going against the Seahawks and the 12th man at home in a primetime matchup is something I thought I’d never advise to start off the season in a survivor pool. However, these aren’t the same old Seahwaks. Seattle is amongst the worst few teams in the NFL and then you add in Russell Wilson returning in his very first game as a Bronco and it makes this a done deal for me.

Home teams in the Week 1 Thursday night opener are 12-6-3 ATS since 2000 and reigning Super Bowl champions are 10-5-2 in seventeen weekday primetime openers starting back in 2004. The Rams are the sixth Super Bowl champ listed as an underdog in Week. The previous five such teams were 4-1 straight up and against the spread in their opener.
