SURVIVOR
Each week I will pick two games, my “Play it Safe” selection as well as my “Out on a Limb” pick:

Play It Safe: Eagles vs. DAL
This is the week to use Philly. They’re at home and playing the Cowboys and their third-string QB. Look for Carson Wentz to have no issues moving the ball vs. the Dallas defense and the Eagles’ D to clamp down on the struggling Cowboys’ offense.

Out on a Limb: Packers vs. MIN
Seems like a good bet here to go with the Packers at home. They’re a touchdown favorite currently and shouldn’t have problems getting close to that mark. Divisional matchups can be tricky, but I like Green Bay here.

THURSDAY NIGHT SPECIAL
You can get my complete “Against the Spread” plays to a separate article that will run each Saturday or Sunday morning this season. In its place here, I offer up a Thursday night betting recommendation. My starting Thursday night bankroll for the purposes of this article was $1000.

Starting Balance: $1000
Current Balance: $1270

The Pick:
$300 – Panthers -1.5

Atlanta has looked better of late, but Carolina still gets the edge here to me. Teddy Bridgewater is the key here. If he can take care of the football and keep the chains moving I don’t expect the Falcons to have many answers. I like the Panthers to win this by a touchdown or better.
