SURVIVOR
Each week I will pick two games, my “Play it Safe” selection as well as my “Out on a Limb” pick:

Play It Safe: Bills at NYJ
I hate to keep going back to the well and picking vs. the Jets, but they are easily the worst team in football. Add to it the fact the Bills have dropped two straight contests and this shapes up to be a “get right” type of game for Buffalo.

Out on a Limb: Rams vs. CHI
The Bears are 5-1, but aside from their win over the Bucs they really haven’t beaten a playoff caliber team yet. I’m not sure the Rams qualify, but the oddsmakers definitely think LA is a tier ahead and I agree. It’s risky, but sometimes being contrarian pays off.

THURSDAY NIGHT SPECIAL
You can get my complete “Against the Spread” plays to a separate article that will run each Saturday or Sunday morning this season. In its place here, I offer up a Thursday night betting recommendation. My starting Thursday night bankroll for the purposes of this article was $1000.

Starting Balance: $1000
Current Balance: $1070

The Pick:
$200 – Giants +4.5

The injuries continue to pile up for the Eagles. I expect them to do just enough to squeak out a win, but is far from a given. The play today is the Giants. It won’t be one of the top picks of the week for me, but definitely worth playing if you’re looking for some action.
