SURVIVOR
Each week I will pick two games, my “Play it Safe” selection as well as my “Out on a Limb” pick:
Play It Safe: Rams vs. NYG
Despite coming up short in their comeback bid last week at Buffalo, poolsters shouldn’t hesitate to pull the trigger on the Rams as a Survivor pick in Week 4 as they host the lowly Giants. Without Saquan Barkley they look on offense and the L.A. defense could have a get-healthy game in this one. Look for Jared Goff to have a nice days and many Rams to pad their stats.
Out on a Limb: 49ers vs. PHI
With all of the injuries the 49ers have, the Eagles have even more. Philly is a train wreck right now and traveling across the country to take on the defending NFC Champions doesn’t bode well. You could end up sweating this one out, but SF is a sneaky play here.

THURSDAY NIGHT SPECIAL
You can get my complete “Against the Spread” plays to a separate article that will run each Saturday or Sunday morning this season. In its place here, I offer up a Thursday night betting recommendation. My starting Thursday night bankroll for the purposes of this article was $1000. Despite suffering my first loss of the season last week, at least it was a good game to watch. The same cannot be said for the Broncos at Jets.
Starting Balance: $1000
Current Balance: $1190
The Pick:
$110 Denver +2
This will not be my favorite play of the year, or even the week. That said anytime I see a team as bad as the Jets giving points, I’m going to likely take some action. I’m going Broncos here +2 and hoping that New York beats themselves.
