SURVIVOR
Each week I will pick two games, my “Play it Safe” selection as well as my “Out on a Limb” pick:

Play It Safe (7-0): Bengals at NYJ
WHO DEY! Don’t look now, but Cincinnati are serious contenders in the AFC and they won’t let up here against the lowly Jets who are struggling with injuries on both sides of the ball. Look for the Bengals to win by two touchdowns or more here.

Out on a Limb (7-0): 49ers at CHI
With the Rams and Bills also being in play with the Bengals as Play it Safe pick there is a big drop off after that. I considered the Chiefs for this spot, but landed on the 49ers. As bad as things have gone for San Francisco this season, they’ve been worse for the Bears. Chicago’s offense is brutal right now and has been all season. I like the Niners’ D to prevail here.

THURSDAY NIGHT SPECIAL
You can get my complete “Against the Spread” plays to a separate article that will run each Saturday or Sunday morning this season. However, we will kick things off weekly here with my Thursday night betting recommendation. My starting Thursday night bankroll for the purposes of this article is $1000.

Starting Balance: $1000
Current Balance: $760

The Pick:
$220 to win $200 – Under 50.5

We’ve been on a cold streak lately and despite all of my Thursday picks being close, that isn’t helping you out in the winning ledger. With the Packers playing short handed at wide receiver I expect them to try to win this one on the ground and it might just work. I’m tempted to take Aaron Rodgers and Green Bay +6.5, but the safer bet in my eyes is the total.
