SURVIVOR
Each week I will pick two games, my “Play it Safe” selection as well as my “Out on a Limb” pick:

Play It Safe (6-0): Rams vs. DET
I’m taking a break from using the team playing the Texans and am going to pick on the Lions instead. The Rams are on a roll and have had no problem putting lesser competition away early so far this season.

Out on a Limb (6-0): Patriots vs. NYJ
The Jets have been playing better of late and coming off a bye. However, Bill Belichick and company are going to create too many headaches for rookie quarterback Zach Wilson for the Gang Green to have a chance in this one. There are a ton of heavy favorites on the Week 7 slate, but I’m going a little further down the board and taking a chance here.

THURSDAY NIGHT SPECIAL
You can get my complete “Against the Spread” plays to a separate article that will run each Saturday or Sunday morning this season. However, we will kick things off weekly here with my Thursday night betting recommendation. My starting Thursday night bankroll for the purposes of this article is $1000.

Starting Balance: $1000
Current Balance: $860

The Pick:
$100 to win $120 – Denver ML (+120)

I went all in last week on the Bucs and got burned on a crap backdoor cover that included a fluke two-point conversion. Just another unbelievable Thursday night beat. This week’s game is terrible and honestly I don’t love much between the dicey weather and the abundance of injuries to key players. When in doubt I take the money line of the underdog and cross my fingers. Go Broncos!
