SURVIVOR
Each week I will pick two games, my “Play it Safe” selection as well as my “Out on a Limb” pick:

Play It Safe (5-0): Chiefs at WAS
Kansas City got their lunch handed to them at home last week on Sunday Night Football by the Bills, but don’t write off Patrick Mahomes and company just yet. The schedule lightens up a bit now starting with this weeks road trip to D.C. where I expect the Chiefs to win by double digits.

Out on a Limb (5-0): Colts vs. HOU
Given all of their injuries, the short week, and the complete collapse taking the Colts seems risky. I like the Texans getting the 10 points, but will be using the Colts in some of my Survivor spots this week to try to get by with a 1-win team.

THURSDAY NIGHT SPECIAL
You can get my complete “Against the Spread” plays to a separate article that will run each Saturday or Sunday morning this season. However, we will kick things off weekly here with my Thursday night betting recommendation. My starting Thursday night bankroll for the purposes of this article is $1000.

Starting Balance: $1000
Current Balance: $1180

The Pick:
$320 to win $300 Bucs -6.5

The Eagles have a team that have burned me this year more than once, but one thing I’ve come to the conclusion of is they are not a very good team. The Bucs’ D is a mess right now with all of the injuries and that scares me a bit. Add in Tom Brady having an injured thumb as there are more reasons for concern. That said, it’s hard to envision Philly keeping things within a single TD score. I’m going Bucs and feeling pretty good about it.
