SURVIVOR
Each week I will pick two games, my “Play it Safe” selection as well as my “Out on a Limb” pick:

Play It Safe (4-0): Patriots at HOU
I know it is getting redundant, but going against the Texans each week has worked every time I did it, which didn’t included Week 1 vs. a rookie QB and first-time NFL coach so I’m still alive. Go Pats!

Out on a Limb (4-0): Cowboys vs. NYG
Divisional matchups always scare me, but the Cowboys are looking like the team to beat in the NFC East right now and I expect them to keep it rolling at home in this one vs. an inferior Giants’ team that still not at 100 percent.

THURSDAY NIGHT SPECIAL
You can get my complete “Against the Spread” plays to a separate article that will run each Saturday or Sunday morning this season. However, we will kick things off weekly here with my Thursday night betting recommendation. My starting Thursday night bankroll for the purposes of this article is $1000.

Starting Balance: $1000
Current Balance: $980

The Pick:
$220 to win $200 Under 54.5

I cannot believe how close I’ve been to being perfect on Thursday night bets so far this year. However, in the end I’m 2-2 and down just a tad of a juice on the season. Tonight we’ll look to get back on the winning side of the ledger after last week’s disappointing miss on the over. I liked it better when the Rams opened up as a dog, but now that they moved to as high as 3-point favorite in some spots I am inclined to go back to the under. I do expect some scoring tonight, but getting to 55 points seems like a bit of a stretch on a short-week Thursday night game. You might also consider the ML / with parlay.
