SURVIVOR
Each week I will pick two games, my “Play it Safe” selection as well as my “Out on a Limb” pick:

Play It Safe: Cowboys at MIA
I am trying not to be too obvious here. Week 3 brings us a pair of 20-point favorites. Figuring many used the Patriots last week against the Dolphins, we will stick with what is working here at take the Cowboys as they host miserable Miami. The Pats obviously make for a good pivot if you have them.

Out on a Limb: Vikings vs. OAK
If you want to pass on both the big favorites, the Vikings are the next logical pick for me. After a tough loss at Lambeau Field they return home for meeting with the Raiders, who don’t have the defense to keep Minnesota in check.

THURSDAY NIGHT SPECIAL
I am moving my complete “Against the Spread” plays to a separate article that will run each Saturday or Sunday morning this season. In its place here, I am introducing a new Thursday night betting recommendation. My starting Thursday night bankroll for the purposes of this article is $1000.

Starting Balance: $1000
Current Balance: $1245

The Pick:
$110 – Over 40 TEN/JAC

The ‘over’ cash in seven straight night games for the Titans going back to the 2016 season while Jacksonville is on a 3-0 ‘over’ run in primetime spots during the same span. I don’t think there is a ton of points going on the scoreboard tonight, but they’ll be enough to hit this mark.
