SURVIVOR
Each week I will pick two games, my “Play it Safe” selection as well as my “Out on a Limb” pick:

Play It Safe (11-4): Chargers at HOU
The Chargers have so much to play for, but going on the road is never easy. However, the Texans just don’t have the firepower to keep pace with Justin Herbert, especially with Brandin Cooks on the disabled list.

Out on a Limb (15-0): Seahawks vs. CHI
Seattle seems like a mess, but when compared to the Bears things don’t seem that bad. Honestly I think both teams have new coaches next season, but I’m going with the home team here and crossing my fingers as I hope to get through the season unbeaten on my “out on the limb” selections.

THURSDAY NIGHT SPECIAL
You can get my complete “Against the Spread” plays to a separate article that will run each Saturday or Sunday morning this season. However, we will kick things off weekly here with my Thursday night betting recommendation. My starting Thursday night bankroll for the purposes of this article is $1000.

Starting Balance: $1000
Current Balance: $610

The Pick:
$110 to win $100 49ers -3

The Titans are big time overachievers, but this 49ers’ team is too much for them to handle. The 49ers’ defense is stout, particularly against the run. It helps that Tennessee will likely get back AJ Brown and Julio Jones. However, I expect a low-scoring affair and will go with the better team and lay the points. If it goes to 3.5 though I may pivot to the under.
