Each week I’ll offer up my “playing it safe” and my “out on the limb” pick for your elimination pool:
Playing it safe – Chiefs
Kansas City needs this one badly and the Dolphins have been hit hard by injuries. Cutler and company will find the confines of Arrowhead Stadium problematic. Look for Kareem Hunt to shred the Dolphins’ D for chunks of yardage at a time. Chiefs win by double digits.
Out on a limb – Lions
I try to shy away from road teams when possible, especially the Lions, who have traditionally struggled as visitors. However, the Bengals’ defense has been decimated by injury and the result had them getting lit up like a Christmas tree. Detroit is fighting for a playoff berth and Cincinnati is counting down the minutes until season’s end.
