SURVIVOR
Each week I will pick two games, my “Play it Safe” selection as well as my “Out on a Limb” pick:

Play It Safe (12-2): Chiefs at HOU
As the only double-digit favorite on the board this week, the Chiefs on the road in Houston in the surest bet of the week. The Texans simply don’t have the firepower to keep pace even if their defense slows things down for Patrick Mahomes and company.

Out on a Limb (6-8): Packers vs. LAR
Those that went “out on a limb” with me last week and went against the Rams are no longer alive in their Survival pools. That said, this time Baker Mayfield will need to pull off some magic on the road at Lambeu Field against a defense light years ahead of last week’s foes, the Raiders. Go Pack! Go!

THURSDAY NIGHT SPECIALS
Look for my “Against the Spread” plays in a separate article that will run each Saturday this season. Here I will look at my Thursday night betting recommendation.

The Pick:
$110 Seahawks (-120 DraftKings)
Season total: (9-5 on season; +$370 season total)

Get on this one quickly as the hook could go away. I actually got it on Wednesday before it got juiced up. The 49ers’ D is good and will present a challenge here, but Seattle at home in a game that they must win to keep the playoff hopes going seems like a good time to take the points.
