SURVIVOR
Each week I will pick two games, my “Play it Safe” selection as well as my “Out on a Limb” pick:

Play It Safe (9-3): Vikings at DET
With no D’Andre Swift and no Dalvin Cook in this game both teams will be forced to look at other options to carry the offense and Minnesota just has way more depth. I like the Vikings by a touchdown or more in this one as they try to stay in the mix for a NFC wildcard spot.

Out on a Limb (12-0): Dolphins vs. NYG
Don’t look now, but Miami is heating up. Now they get a Giants’ team without their starting quarterback. With Mike Glennon set to start under center for New York and a new play caller to boot there are just too many hurdles for me to think New York fares well in this one.

THURSDAY NIGHT SPECIAL
You can get my complete “Against the Spread” plays to a separate article that will run each Saturday or Sunday morning this season. However, we will kick things off weekly here with my Thursday night betting recommendation. My starting Thursday night bankroll for the purposes of this article is $1000.

Starting Balance: $1000
Current Balance: $320

The Pick:
$220 to win $200 Under 47.5

Again last week I was foiled by a .5 point, which seems to be a ridiculous Thursday trend. Let’s hope we get on the side of the ledger here. While both teams appear to be getting healthier, I expect both offenses to lean on the running game here which is why I like the Under.
