SURVIVOR
Each week I will pick two games, my “Play it Safe” selection as well as my “Out on a Limb” pick:

Play It Safe: Steelers at DAL
I typically avoid road teams, but the Steelers are the only undefeated team left in the NFL and the Cowboys are a train wreck. NFL teams are working their way through bye weeks now and poolsters that play Pittsburgh this week should have a bye week of their own in Survivor.

Out on a Limb: Texans at JAC
Divisional matchup and on the road is not normally a recommended path, especially when the team I’m recommend picking has won just one game in seven tries. That said, the Texans are a better team and with Jacksonville starting Jake Luton at quarterback I’m good with those that are running out of choices giving Houston a hard look.

THURSDAY NIGHT SPECIAL
You can get my complete “Against the Spread” plays to a separate article that will run each Saturday or Sunday morning this season. In its place here, I offer up a Thursday night betting recommendation. My starting Thursday night bankroll for the purposes of this article was $1000.

Starting Balance: $1000
Current Balance: $970

The Pick:
$220 – Under 48.5

With all the players missing from this contest on both sides of the ball, I find it hard to believe these teams will get to 50 points. It’s not my favorite bet of the week, but give me the under here.
