SURVIVOR
Each week I will pick two games, my “Play it Safe” selection as well as my “Out on a Limb” pick:

Play It Safe: Packers vs. JAC
With the Jets off this week, poolsters will need another team to pick on and the Jaguars seem to fit the bill. Jacksonville hasn’t seen the winning column since their surprising Week 1 upset of the Dolphins and lost by double digits four times in those seven losses. Look for Green Bay to cruise to 7-2 in this one.

Out on a Limb: Ravens at NE
Going against a road team is something I try to avoid and picking against the Patriots still seems weird, but these are not the same old Pats. The Ravens seem to be struggling, but have still won four of their last five and they should cruise in this one.

THURSDAY NIGHT SPECIAL
You can get my complete “Against the Spread” plays to a separate article that will run each Saturday or Sunday morning this season. In its place here, I offer up a Thursday night betting recommendation. My starting Thursday night bankroll for the purposes of this article was $1000.

Starting Balance: $1000
Current Balance: $850

The Pick:
$220 – Titans +1

I still cannot believe last year’s under didn’t hit. Garbage time is not kind to bettors. I am looking to bounce back in this one. This comes down to quarterbacks for me and I’ll take Ryan Tannehill at home over Phillip Rivers on the road all day. As long as the Titans’ D shows up I like the home team in this one, especially getting points.
