SURVIVOR
Each week I will pick two games, my “Play it Safe” selection as well as my “Out on a Limb” pick:

Play It Safe: Ravens vs. CLE
Lamar Jackson may not put up quite the numbers we saw a year ago, but the Ravens are very much the team to beat inside the AFC North and should have no problems handling the Browns here.

Out on a Limb: Bills vs. NYJ
In Week 1, I don’t go out on the limb too much. That said, the Bills do have a few question marks to me so this pick doesn’t come without risk. The Jets’ D took a big hit after the trade of Jamal Adams and C.J. Mosley opting out due to COVID-19 and that makes Buffalo an intriguing play here.

THURSDAY NIGHT SPECIAL
You can get my complete “Against the Spread” plays to a separate article that will run each Saturday or Sunday morning this season. In its place here, I am introducing a new Thursday night betting recommendation. My starting Thursday night bankroll for the purposes of this article is $1000.

Starting Balance: $1000
Current Balance: $1000

The Pick:
$110 – Over 53

I know everyone is thinking the scoring will be low in Week 1 due to the wacky offseason, but I’m not buying into it too much and certainly not here. Look for Patrick Mahomes and DeShaun Watson to both have solid fantasy nights as both teams put some points on the board.
