SURVIVOR
Each week I will pick two games, my “Play it Safe” selection as well as my “Out on a Limb” pick. So far my Play It Safe pick is 8-2 and my Out on a Limb selection is 8-2 on the year :

Play It Safe: Raiders
Over the past month the Bengals have overtaken the Dolphins as the biggest laughing stock in the NFL and easily the worst team in the league. The Raiders aren’t anything special, but they have proven to be a team that shows up each week and they should have no problems dispensing of the visitors here.

Out on a Limb: Bills
Going against a team that has won back-to-back games in a divisional game on the road isn’t an advisable path in most cases, but Buffalo is a must-win spot to keep their playoff hopes alive and I expect them to come away with a victory in this trip to South Florida.

THURSDAY NIGHT SPECIAL
I am moving my complete “Against the Spread” plays to a separate article that will run each Saturday or Sunday morning this season. In its place here, I am introducing a new Thursday night betting recommendation. My starting Thursday night bankroll for the purposes of this article is $1000.

Starting Balance: $1000
Current Balance: $1425

The Pick:
$100 on Pittsburgh (ML) +132

The Steelers have rebounded from an 0-3 start to get back into the AFC playoff picture. The defense is the key as they’ve held four of their last six opponents to 17 points or less. They’ll get James Conner back here and should prevail vs. a Browns team that has been disappointing most of the year. Pittbsburgh is 7-0-1 in their last eight meetings with their divisional foe. Taking the points is safer, but I like the value of the moneyline here. I will also fire up a Pittsburgh +3 / Under 42 parlay.
